The Celia Newsom Legacy Foundation (CNLF) developed the Celia 5-Point Vindication Plan to honor Celia and all victims of sexual violence and bondage, past and present. There are many meaningful ways to contribute your time, talent, or treasure to help advance this important work.

CNLF welcomes individuals from the public who bring relevant expertise, lived experience, and a passion for our mission to serve alongside board members on the following committees:

  • Strategic Planning Committee - Guides both the immediate 5-point Celia Vindicate Plan and the long-term strategic direction of the CNLF, ensuring alignment with our mission and vision.

  • Budget and Finance Committee - Manages the financial health and fiscal integrity of the CNLF, including budgeting, financial planning, and internal controls.

  • Development Committee - Guides and supports the fundraising strategy of the CNLF, ensuring that development efforts align with the organizational mission and strategic goals.

  • Education Committee - Supports the mission of the CNLF by developing and promoting educational programs that raise public awareness, foster appreciation, and preserve the history of Celia.

  • Program Committee - Plans, develops, and evaluates programs and initiatives that reflect the CNLF’s mission and engage the broader community- this includes the annual Celia Candlelight Vigil and now Celia Day!

  • Memorial Committee - Develops the design, scope, and budget for Celia monuments in St. Louis and Fulton, Missouri, ensuring their historic integrity and public impact.

  • Documentary/Media Committee - Directs the creation, production, and promotion of films and media projects that help preserve and share Celia's story with diverse audiences.

  • Family Heritage Research Committee - Dedicated to uncovering, documenting, and preserving the genealogies, oral histories, and personal narratives of Celia and her descendants.

  • Donate by Card - You can donate via credit or debit card by clicking the “Donate” button in the top right corner of this page or with the “Give Now” button at the bottom.
    You can also navigate to St. Louis Community Foundation and follow these steps:

    • Click on “Give Today” in the top right corner.

    • Click on “Make A Donation”.

    • In the “Search Funds” type Celia.

    • Select the Celia Newsom Legacy Foundation Fund.

  • Corporate Matching Gifts – Does your employer match your charitable donations? Double your impact through your company’s matching gift program. For assistance, contact us at admin@celianewsomlegacyfoundation.org.

  • Honor/Memorial Gifts - Donate in honor or memory of a loved one. Gifts can also be directed to support the Celia Newsom Legacy Foundation in the name of a friend or family member.

  • The Celia Newsom Legacy Foundation Fund is a component fund of the St. Louis Community Foundation and operates under its governing instruments. Therefore, the Fund meets the legal requirements for component fund status and public charity classification, in accordance with the Internal Revenue Code governing community foundations. The St. Louis Community Foundation is a registered 501 (c) (3) charitable organization.
